MGMA Seminar By R. Quadrino
The New York Chapter of the Medical Group Management Association invited Mr. Quadrino to address QLG’s use of ERISA in combating health plan audits and claim denials. The MGMA is the nation’s premier membership association for professional administrators and leaders of medical group practices. The event took place at the Mount Sinai Beth Israel Phillips Ambulatory Care Center in Manhattan.
The talk addressed some of the myths about ERISA (like “it only applies to self-funded plans”) and how and why it governs nearly all of the group sponsored health plans in the United States. Richard spoke about both recoupment / claw back matters as well as pursuing large groups of denied claims on behalf of group practices.
There was a lively discussion between and among the attendees, comprised of doctors and other care providers, billing professionals, and medical practice administrators.
The association indicated that it was a successful presentation and expressed an interest in having an additional talk whereby Mr. Quadrino could address a national MGMA audience.
