Defense of Unfair Competition Claim for a Regional Restaurant Chain
A nationally known restaurant chain pursued our client, claiming that the way it conducted its business was a copycat version of the national chain’s business methods. There were also accusations of stolen recipes. We defeated an attempt by the competing restaurant chain in its attempt to use certain legal tactics to obtain our client’s confidential business information. The complaining company sought a court-ordered deposition of a witness prior to its filing of a lawsuit, in order to gain insight into our clients business practices and methods. Our defense against these tactics was vigorous, and the other restaurant chain gave up in its lawsuit against our client.
